Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth (1986)
Julian Cope is a British rock musician, author, antiquary, musicologist, and poet who came to prominence in 1978 as the singer and songwriter in Liverpool post-punk band The Teardrop Explodes. Cope has since released many solo albums and is a founding member of the bands Queen Elizabeth and Brain Donor. In addition to his musical career, Cope has written four books of non-fiction: Krautrocksampler, The Modern Antiquarian, The Megalithic European, and Japrocksampler, plus two volumes of autobiography: Head-On and Repossessed.
Cope has opted out of the mainstream in recent years, releasing and promoting his music himself, rather than working with a major record label. He continues to record new material both under his own name and with regular collaborators under the band names Brain Donor - his heavy metal power trio, and Queen Elizabeth, an experimental collaboration with Thighpaulsandra of Coil/Spiritualized. Most of his more recent releases are available either primarily or exclusively through Cope’s extensive and interactive website, Head Heritage. Cope is also a musicologist, occultist and an avid champion of obscure and underground music.

Died Pretty - Winterland (1987)
Ron Peno is one of the great underrated front men of Australian rock…
Love the drums on this track.

The Stems - At First Sight (1987)
The Stems formed in Perth, Western Australia in 1983 and played music that was heavily influenced by 1960s garage rock and 1970s power pop. The band broke up in 1987 and then reformed (twenty years later) releasing a new album in 2007.
They have legendary status in Perth. You’re not anyone unless you’ve been to a Stems gig (or several)…
The Stems - At First Sight
Beautiful, classic 80’s Australian power pop. I actually know people who got married to this song…
The The - Slow Train to Dawn (1986)
Duet with Ms Neneh Cherry who appears in the video in a see through dress tied to some train tracks. Nice.

Moonlight Fiesta with Winifred Atwell
I believe this belonged to my aunty when she was a young girl. She grew up to be an opera singer.
Winifred Atwell was quite a popular pianist in the 1950’s in the UK and Australia.
